Montreal, December 11, 2024 – In 2025, the Quebec Video Game Guild, a cooperative representing the Quebec video game industry, celebrates a decade of development, support, collaboration and innovation for this strategic cultural and technological sector. For the occasion, the organization is getting a facelift and launching a new brand image by Rouge marketing, with illustrations by Romain Blais. The launch coincides with the second edition of the Cercle des dirigeants.e.s de l’industrie, which brings together over 150 leaders and executives for a day dedicated to building the industry of today and tomorrow.
10 years of commitment
At the heart of an industry that ranks among the world’s leaders, our cooperative has been bringing together, representing and propelling video game companies of all sizes to success for 10 years.
Since its founding in 2015, La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec has established itself as an essential pillar of the Quebec video game ecosystem. Today, the organization brings together more than 330 active members of all sizes, from video game studios to service companies. It maintains strategic partnerships with over 40 key industry players, ranging from government institutions to major private companies.
Each year, La Guilde organizes over 20 events and support programs, including conferences, workshops and initiatives designed to stimulate entrepreneurship, innovation, market development, collaboration, training and local and international outreach. We are proud to celebrate one of the world’s most mature and creative ecosystems, which has inspired many other jurisdictions. The cooperative spirit at the heart of our actions has a lot to do with it.
“La Guilde is truly the heart of the great team that is the Quebec video game industry. We’re extremely proud to be able to support companies in their development and encourage cooperation between players in the field. Our playground is Quebec, and our mission is to grow globally, one game at a time,” says Stéphanie Marchand, President of La Guilde’s Board of Directors and Senior Vice-President, Production, Behaviour interactif.
At the heart of an exceptional industry
The Quebec video game industry is one of the most dynamic and successful in the world. In 2023, the sector generated $1.4 billion in revenues, almost two-thirds of Quebec’s digital creative sector, employing over 14,500 people. Over 90% of the sector’s revenues are generated outside Quebec. Another remarkable fact is that 86% of video game studios are Quebec-owned and located throughout the province. The recipe for success lies in the creativity of our people, their passion, and a stable, predictable business environment. It’s thanks to Quebec talent and expertise that our games are played by hundreds of millions of people around the world.
A forward-looking industry
La Guilde is more forward-looking than ever. In an ever-changing and increasingly competitive global environment, the organization works tirelessly to protect, distinguish and perpetuate the Quebec industry. Through marketing support programs, training initiatives for tomorrow’s talent, and strategic partnerships with international players, Quebec is well positioned to continue growing and shining on a global scale.
With a new brand image that embodies our ambition, inclusiveness and vision for the future, the organization is committed to supporting the growth and innovation of Quebec’s video game industry for years to come. This evolution is part of an ongoing process of strengthening the ecosystem and cooperation between industry players.
