La guilde du jeu vidéo du québec’s edi mutualization project: a first cohort of supported companies
Montreal, March 6, 2023 : La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec is pleased to announce that a first cohort of 20 independent Montreal video game studios has been able to benefit from coaching through a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) diagnosis and recommendations project, thanks to the financial support of the City of Montreal as part of its support for resource sharing.
The diagnosis and recommendations project aims to encourage the ecosystem to initiate a reflection and to undertake concrete actions that adhere to the principles of DEI. This initiative aims to make the internal processes of Montreal studios more inclusive through a comprehensive process that includes survey data collection, interviews and a literature review for each participating studio. In the end, 20 studios representing 330 employees were able to benefit from a detailed diagnosis and recommendations on their organizational and human resources practices.
These studios were supported in their efforts to achieve a more inclusive organizational culture by providing them with solutions adapted to small and medium-sized businesses, as well as tools that will also be useful to our members throughout Quebec. This sharing program is part of La Guilde’s Diversity and Inclusion Plan, whose objective is to raise awareness, support and provide tools to industry players in terms of diversity, equity and inclusion.
« The project allows us to identify the needs of our member studios by contributing in a concrete way to the improvement of practices and the sharing of knowledge within our ecosystem, » says Béatrice Desjardins-Gagnon, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisor, La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec.
« We would like to thank the City of Montreal for its support in this structuring program for our members. It is important for La Guilde to offer tools that are adapted to encourage video game companies in their efforts to be inclusive » adds Jean Jacques Hermans, Executive Director, La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec.
