Ten studios represented the Quebec’s industry at the devcom digital conference that took place from August 17 to 30. Two pitching sessions with publishers also took place on August 19 and 20. The digital event facilitates meetings, discussions, and digital exhibitions. It focuses on game developers and their ecosystem.
Thanks to La Caravane organized by Ubisoft, La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec, Québec EPIX and Investissement Québec international, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal, these studios were able to participate free of charge in this marketing event, which was one of the five free virtual international missions offered between now and the end of the year to ensure a strategic presence in the various promising markets for Québec video game studios.
This privileged access is enhanced by the support of economic attachés from the network of Québec delegations abroad, the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service – World Affairs Canada and specialized marketing mentors.
The partners are now counting on the preparation of Canada Games Online, headed by the Canadian Interactive Alliance (CIAIC), in close collaboration with La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec and its counterparts based across the country in two phases during the month of September.
- The Canada Caravan “market pulse training (September 9-10)” about international video game markets and strategies for developing effective sales pitching.
- b2b connect (September 17-18) which will provide an opportunity to present game concepts to various publishers and potential investors from around the world. Already more than 50 publishers and investors have confirmed their presence, including EA, Nintendo, Konami, NetEase, Square Enix and 505 Games.
